Chris + Alyssa are such a stunning couple! For their engagement session they wanted the vibrant outdoors and a clean modern urban vibe. We had so much fun photographing this couple and getting to know them!
We started their engagement session at Cole's Garden in Oklahoma City, where C+A will be having their wedding next spring. The Oklahoma blue sky and wispy clouds just looked amazing against the beautiful trees and landscaping! We then headed over to the business district in downtown OKC. C+A rocked the sophisticated modern look. With Chris in his modern suit and Alyssa in her blue dress and heels they looked like celebrities! We ended the evening at twilight, with C+A glowing as they were in each others arms! So Cute!! This moment just felt timeless in front of the Oklahoma City skyline!
We love hearing the story of how our couples met and their proposal! Here is their story told by Chris…"I was invited to a boot camp style workout, and Alyssa happened to be one of the coaches at the time. We met, and later spoke again at a conference that same weekend. We both had butterflies, but didn't start dating just yet! We built a solid foundation and became friends before dating.
We dated 2.5 years before I proposed. I re-created our first two dates. The first was a date in Chickasha in December, at the festival of lights. We took a picture on the bridge (fully illuminated with string lights at night). The second date was a Paint and Pallet downtown where we created our works of art lol. We still have that painting hanging in our house today in the kitchen, every time we see it - it reminds us of our first couple dates.
We had just eaten dinner downtown, and I suggested we go look at the Botanical Gardens while we were in the area, little did Alyssa know, that the Gardens were actually closed to the public and I had rented out the location and had everything setup for quite a surprise. When we entered, she saw the wooden bridge, fully illuminated with string lights, with a blank easel at the end. Aligning the sides of the bridge, 8 different photos were hung for us to see. Each large print was a memory from the last 2.5 years, with a written note of affirmation - each with a different reason why I love her. At the end, the blank easel was the last piece of the puzzle, our next work of art, our engagement and marriage. I proposed and she said YES. When we went to surprise my parents at their house, little did she know, but Alyssa's family had flown in from all over the country to surprise her, along with our closest friends to share this special moment with us. It was a wonderful evening that we will forever remember!"
