Tyson and Sydney are such a fabulous couple and will be getting married at Cole’s Garden in Oklahoma City, OK. We loved photographing their engagement portraits in downtown Oklahoma City. We always love it when our couples incorporate their car in their portraits, especially when it’s a modern muscle car like the Dodge Challenger! These two are so much fun and were a blast to photograph! We are excited to be photographing your wedding coming up soon!!
We love hearing the story of how our couples met and their proposal! Here is Tyson and Sydney’s story, told by Sydney…
“We both went to school in Crescent, and as a cheerleader on the sidelines I instantly had a huge crush on him. We were friends throughout high school and stayed in touch after he graduated. Several years later, Lindsey (his sister) asked me to come out for her 23rd birthday at the piano bar downtown. There, I saw Tyson for the first time in which felt like forever! We got to catch up on a lot. Afterwards, we all went out for breakfast. That was probably one of the most fun nights I had in awhile. The next day he called and asked if I wanted to go see Life of Pi with Lindsey and her friend. It was fun! The next day he called again, and in my head I was thinking, "what's this guy want", of course another chance to see me. We always went to Old Chicago in Edmond with Lindsey. I think we were both nervous to have a one on one date, but when we did, it felt exciting! From there on out, we were inseparable.
It was June 26th and I was at a clinical rotation downtown, and I got a text message from Tyson, "rose gold or white gold" as if I had a choice or even knew what he was doing. It didn't take me long to figure it out and I quickly became so giddy! I called my mom twice to talk about it and she told me just to calm down. I literally was talking a million miles a minute! I told Tyson I wanted to help my brother and his wife move into their new place in Norman that night, and he said we had other plans. When I got to his house he was sitting in the dark, on the couch, in silence. I didn't ask questions. I didn't want to take away any of his thunder. We are both horrible with keeping secrets from each other. I left to go workout and when I came back he was outside walking the dog acting strange. He said, "lets go to Norman and help them move." We went to Norman so he could ask for permission from my dad. He pulled me away to step outside. He took me over by the car and got down while saying "I really wanted to wait for the fireworks, but I couldn't wait to show you. You've been my best friend all this time, and I could never imagine doing life without you. Will you marry me?" It was perfect - gym clothes, c-towns finest, sweat, and all, PERFECT!”
